80/20

I’ve been thinking a lot about the 80/20 rule lately and how a small portion of what we do usually drives most of the results we get. It shows up everywhere. It shows up in our work, our homes, our health, even in the way we love people.

It’s funny how often we chase the 80 that doesn’t matter and overlook the 20 that does. But when you start paying attention, you realize that life gets lighter, clearer, and more meaningful when you focus on the right thing.

Growth

Growth is 20% planning and 80% action.

You can map it out all you want, but at some point, you’ve just got to move. The plan doesn’t grow you — the doing does.

Peace of Mind

Peace is 20% growing and 80% learning to let go.

You can’t carry everything. Some things you just have to set down and trust that they’ll work themselves out.

Decision Making

Decision making is 20% options and 80% clarity.

You don’t need more choices — you need more peace about the ones that matter.

Mental Strength

Mental strength is 20% knowledge and 80% resilience.

It’s not about knowing every answer; it’s about showing up when life hits hard.

Confidence

Confidence is 20% presentation and 80% preparation.

It’s built long before anyone sees you — in the quiet work no one claps for.

Self-Discipline

Self-discipline is 20% motivation and 80% systems.

Motivation fades. Systems don’t. Build habits that keep you steady when your energy doesn’t.

Life Balance

Life balance is 20% schedules and 80% boundaries.

You can plan your time perfectly, but if you never say no, you’ll always run out of yes.

Happiness

Happiness is 20% achievement and 80% gratitude.

You don’t need more trophies — just more thankfulness for the people and moments already around you.

Parenting

Parenting is 20% instruction and 80% presence.

Our kids won’t remember every rule we made, but they’ll remember if we showed up.

The Point

Life’s not about perfect ratios — it’s about remembering that the small things often make the biggest difference.

When we learn to give our best energy to what truly matters, we find a rhythm that feels lighter, stronger, and more full of purpose.
